2021 taught me a lot of things but this is like my top 4. Read and enjoy. 😉

1. I'm getting old.

I never really thought about this before. So you mean, I’m now in my 20s like this? Before 2021 I was still thinking I was a daddy’s girl, any small thing I’ve run to my daddy.

Early 2021 my dad told me some stuff that hit hard. The gist of the talk we had was I'm supposed to have started making money and making plans for my life by myself. I knew this already at the time but him telling me that made it more real.

So I will start using the money I make to fend for myself and not just to "catch cruise"?

This lesson made me more intentional about my independence. That reminds me, your girl is still jobless, I am a writer, a social media manager and a content creator( I create content for brands, written, short videos, information graphics) so if you see an opportunity at all that you think it's a good fit for me, holla at me. Niche is lifestyle abeg. Thank you

To the next lesson

2. If you need help ask for it.

When I got back to school, like when I got back to living by myself in school everything and I mean everything was overwhelming. The classes, cooking by myself again, the prices of everything from transportation to foodstuff. Even to print one single paper was now #20.

This made me lose focus and at one point I know everyone in my class knew something was up with me. I did not even know what was wrong exactly but I was sad most of the time. I was crying a lot. Felt like trash for some time.

I thank God for my roommate who helped me through it even though she does not know she did.

And my friends that I talked to also, Mr friends in Ibadan and Lagos who gave advice some being really horrible advice.

The point of this sub story is ask for help, there is no award for suffering alone.

On to the next...

3. God always comes through.

I don’t need to talk too much here. He does come through patience and trust is needed though cause He works in His own time.

4.Making strategic moves will help you achieve your goals.

At the beginning of last year, I looked at all that I had been doing since I left secondary school and I noticed a pattern of no achievements. From all the life coaches from Instagram, I learnt a couple of things to change that. Maybe they have no real qualifications to advise one on their life choices but I picked some things that made sense from what they were all saying.

What I picked is that one should make a plan. That's why you need a vision board, a strategy, a to do list, a journal. All these is to plan on how to achieve your goals and also to be reminded of the goals you set for yourself.

I did all these and the change in my life has been remarkable.

There it is, 4 things I learnt. I hope your 2021 was as insightful as mine.

My 2022 has been going great so far but Jumia has refused to give o release my package. Jumia release my package please.😭

Tell me how your 2021 went and I'll see you in my next post.
